Bio-efficacy of insecticides and bio-pesticides against seed midge, Systole albipennis in coriander crop

Abstract

A field experiment was conducted to evaluate the bio-efficacy of insecticides and bio-pesticides against seed midge, S. albipennis in coriander crop at Agronomy Farm, Department of Entomology, S.K.N. College of Agriculture, Jobner during Rabi, 2021-22 and 2022-23 and revealed that the treatments difenthiuron 50% WP followed by dimethoate 30 EC/malathion 50 EC and pyriproxifen 10 EC proved to be most effective treatments against seed midge. The next effective treatments were found azadirachtin 0.03 EC, neem seed kernel extract 5.0 percent and neem oil 1.0 percent. The entomopathogenic fungus Lecanicillium lecanii 1.15 WP, Beauveria bassiana 1.15 WP and Metarhhizium anisopliae 1.15 WP were categorized as least effective treatments. The maximum yield 13.78 q ha-1 of coriander seed was obtained in the plots treated with difenthiuron 50% WP.
