The effect of Itrifal Ustukhuddus and Itrifal Gududi in the management of polycystic ovarian syndrome: A case report

Abstract

A 26 year female patient with chief complaints of scanty menses and lower abdominal pain, attended the Niswan-Wa-Qabalat (OBGY) OPD of Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College & Hospital, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, India. The patient was clinically examined, routine investigation was carried out and the condition was diagnosed as Polycystic ovarian syndrome. The patient was advised to adhere to strict lifestyle modifications as well as pharmacotherapy- Itrifal Ustukhuddus and Itrifal Gududi, for three months. Prior to and following treatment, the patient was evaluated on the basis of USG, Thyroid profile and Serum Prolactin. Throughout the course of treatment, there was a notable improvement. After completing the study, it was concluded that the Unani management is safe and effective in the treatment of polycystic ovarian syndrome without any side effects.
