Study of integrated nutrient management on quality attributes in garden pea (Pisum sativus L.)

Abstract

This study was undertaken to evaluate the integrated nutrient management on quality of garden pea. There were significant differences observed in all treatments. The experiment was laid out in a randomized block design with three replications. Among the seven treatments evaluated it revealed that the maximum of Quality parameters like the highest Ascorbic acid content (26.66 mg /100 g fresh weight) was recorded in Treatment T3 - 75% RDF+ FYM (5t /ha) + Vermicompost (1.5 t/ha) + Azotobacter (5kg /ha) Whereas, minimum Average pod weight (4.87g) was observed in the treatment T7 - 100% RDF. The maximum Fiber content (30.21%) was recorded in Treatment T3 - 75% RDF+ FYM (5t /ha) + Vermicompost (1.5 t/ha) + Azotobacter (5kg /ha) Whereas, minimum Average pod weight (4.87g) was observed in Treatment 100% RDF. The highest protein content (19.86%) was recorded in Treatment T3 -75% RDF+ FYM (5t /ha) + Vermicompost (1.5 t/ha) + Azotobacter (5kg /ha). The maximum total soluble solids (17.33 Brix) were recorded in Treatment T3 - 75% RDF+ FYM (5t /ha) + Vermicompost (1.5 t/ha) + Azotobacter (5kg /ha).
