Abstract

This study assessed the nutritional status of 150 children aged 6-59 months in Sadar Bazar, Jalandhar Cantt. Using surveys and physical measurements, it found that 33% of children were stunted, 11% wasted, and 17% underweight, with boys more affected by stunting and wasting, and girls more by underweight. Most families had a business background and used iodized salt and purified water. Homemade food was used for weaning in 37% of cases, while 63% used commercial food. A significant link was found between a mother’s occupation and child wasting. The study highlights that malnutrition remains a serious issue needing focused interventions.
