Comparative study of fresh cow dung slurry v/s inorganic nutrient management on growth, yield and quality of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)

Abstract

The experiment was carried out on evaluating Comparative study of fresh cow dung slurry v/s inorganic nutrient management on growth, yield and quality of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), was carried out during rabi season of 2019-2020 and 2020-21. To fulfil the objectives, the Instructional Farm of Agronomy Department, College of Agriculture, JAU, Junagadh. Experimental design involved a Randomized Block Design with three replications. The application of 100% RDF i.e. 120:60:60- N: P2O5: K2O kg ha-1 was found effective for obtaining the higher growth, yield and quality as well as maintaining the soil fertility while, at par with application of bio-consortia (Vermicompost 2 t ha-1 + Azotobacter 2 L ha-1 + PSB 2 L ha-1 + KSB 2 L ha-1 + Trichoderma harzianum 3 kg ha-1 + Pseudomonas fluorescence 3 L ha-1 + Beauveria bassiana 3 kg ha-1) at the time of sowing, cow dung @ 1500 kg ha-1 applied through slurry in the ratio of cow dung (kg) and water (Liter) in 1:3 with irrigation at the time of sowing and Jivamrut @ 500 L ha-1 applied each at sowing, 30 DAS and 45 DAS were found effective for obtaining the higher yield and quality as well as improving the soil health for organic cultivation of wheat subjected to availability of the organic inputs and premium price of wheat produce under medium black calcareous soil of Saurashtra region.
