Effect of gypsum and naphthalene acetic acid on growth and yield of summer groundnut
Abstract
The field experiment titled “Effect of Gypsum and Naphthalene Acetic Acid on Growth and Yield of Summer Groundnut” was conducted at Crop Research Farm, Department of Agronomy, Naini Agriculture Institute, Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Science, Prayagraj (Allahabad), Uttar Pradesh during Zaid season of 2024. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design with ten treatments which were replicated three times. The experiment results revealed that treatment-T9 [Gypsum (400kg/ha) + NAA (50ppm)] was found to be significantly higher in growth parameters viz, plant height (62.27 cm), number of nodules/plant (81.67), plant dry weight (54.80 g), cgr (40.71 g/m2/day), yield attributing parameters viz, number of pods/plant (17.67), seed index (37.97 g) and yield parameters viz, kernel yield (3.73 t/ha), haulm yield (6.61 t/ha). Maximum gross return (214747.95 INR/ha), net return (144488.45 INR/ha), benefit-cost ratio (2.06) was also found to be productive as well as economically feasible in treatment-T9 [Gypsum (400kg/ha) + NAA (50ppm)].
