Effects of polysaccharide of Atractylodes macrocephala Koidz combined with microecological preparations on growth performance and serum hormone levels of pigs

Abstract

This study investigates the effects of varying concentrations of polysaccharide from Atractylodes macrocephala Koidz and microecological preparations on the growth performance and serum hormone levels of weaned piglets. A total of 120 piglets, averaging 7 kg, were randomly assigned to five groups over a 148-day trial, including a control group, an antibiotic group, and three experimental groups with different dietary enhancements. Results indicated that the experimental groups exhibited significantly improved average daily gain and feed-to-meat ratios, particularly in the group receiving both microecological preparations and polysaccharide (p
