Effect of micro nutrient on growth and yield of bottle gourd (Lagenaria siceraria L.)
Abstract
The present\\r\\ninvestigation entitled “Effect of micronutrients on growth and yield of bottle\\r\\ngourd (Lagenaria siceraria L.)” was carried out during the year\\r\\nof 2023-24 Kharfi season 2023-24, at Department of Horticulture, Chandra Bhanu\\r\\nGupta Agriculture PG College, Lucknow (UP). The different levels of\\r\\nmicro-nutrients (T0: control-water spray, T1: ZnSO4 0.25%, T2: ZnSO4 0.5%, T3: ZnSO4 0.75%, T4: boric acid 0.2%, T5: Boric acid 0.3%\\r\\nand T6: boric acid 0.4%) were used. The experimental\\r\\nresults revealed that the maximum length of vine (410.10cm) and maximum length\\r\\nof internode (15.20cm) was recorded with application of boric acid 0.2%. While\\r\\nnumber of branches per plant was highest with boric acid 0.4%. In respect of\\r\\nflowering, minimum days to first male flower (48.8) and female flower (60.0)\\r\\nwere noticed with treatment T2 (ZnSO4 0.5%). However, number of fruit per vine (5.9), average fruit weight\\r\\n(703.20g), fruit yield per plot (24.80kg) and per hectare (298.3q) were found\\r\\nto be maximum with the application of ZnSO4 0.75% (T3).
