Ferrocenyl and pyridyl groups attached to dithiocarbamate complexes as a precursors for ternary metal sulphides

International Journal of Advanced Biochemistry Research · 2025 · Vol. 9(4) · pp. 1193–1196

Abstract

N-ferrocenylmethyl-N-pyridin-4-ylmethyl) dithiocarbamate of Zn(II) and Cd(II) were prepared and characterised by spectroscopy techniques and single crystal X-ray crystalography. The decomposition of these ferrocene fuctionalized dithiocarbamate complexes of Zinc(II) and Cadmium(II) yielded Fe5Zn2S9, Fe3ZnS5 and Fe5CdS8 which have been characterized by TGA and PXRD techniques showing that the complexes are useful single source precursors for the preparation of ternary metal sulfide materials.
