Overview of Ai Applications in Student Sports Club Management

Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly transforming the management and development of student sports clubs at universities. Recent studies highlight AI-driven systems that optimize club operations enhancing administrative efficiency, member services, and financial performance. AI applications in sports range from intelligent scheduling and resource management to data-driven decision support in coaching and training. For example, machine learning algorithms can analyze athlete performance and injury risk, enabling coaches to personalize training programs and improve talent development. AI chatbots and computer vision tools are also used to boost fan engagement and marketing for university sports clubs, providing real-time information and interactive experiences. Major sports organizations (e.g. the IOC) have launched strategies to integrate AI in sports governance and education, emphasizing collaboration between academia and industry. Although AI offers substantial opportunities such as improved strategic planning, talent identification, and operational efficiency there are challenges regarding data privacy, ethical use, and the need to train staff in AI competencies. This article summarizes the world’s advanced AI applications in sports club management and discusses their implementation in the university context in Vietnam. The results show that leveraging AI can modernize student sports clubs, making them more sustainable, competitive, and providing an enhanced experience for students, athletes, and stakeholders in the digital age.
