Effect of cow dung slurry through foliar application on yield of transplanted rice

Abstract

The present investigation entitled “Soil properties and yield of rice, influenced by the application of organic and inorganic sources of plant nutrients” was carried out during kharif season 2023 at the Instructional Cum Research Farm, Barrister Thakur Chhedilal College of Agriculture and Research Station, Bilaspur (C.G.). The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design with three replications. The experiment's findings showed that the treatment (T5) 50% RDN + Foliar application of slurry at 30, 60 and 90 DAT have registered higher growth, yield attributes and yield of rice crop, which was similar with (T₂) 100% of RDF as basal (80:60:40 NPK kg ha-1). Next the best treatment was (T₄) 50% RDN + Foliar application of slurry at 30 and 60 DAT, which was statistically at par with (T₆) 50% RDN + 10% cow urine spray at 30 and 60 DAT, followed by (T₃) 50% RDN + Foliar application of slurry (550 L ha-1) at 30 DAT and (T₈) 50% RDN + Foliar spray of vermiwash (20 liter ha-1) foliar spray at 30 and 60 DAT. Significantly highest N, P and K uptake by rice plant was tested under (T5) 50% RDN + Foliar application of slurry at 30, 60 and 90 DAT, this treatment was similar with (T₂) 100% of RDF as basal (80:60:40 NPK kg ha-1).
