Impact of thiram priming treatment on standard germination percent of wheat variety K-607
Abstract
The experiment comprising of five treatments on the basis of hydration period and priming with Thiram on first count (per cent), Standard Germination percent of wheat variety K-607: Con trol (T0), hydration for 4 hrs (T1), Hydration for 8 hrs (T2), 4 hrs hydration followed by thiram priming 3gm/ kg(T3), 8 hrs hydration followed by thiram priming 3gm/ kg(T4). Results revealed that the treatment (T4) 8 hrs hydration followed by thiram priming was showing highest first count 79.00 (percent) followed by (T2) Hydration for 8 hrs 72.00 (per cent) in first year and during the 2nd year T2 again showing highest First count (percent) while Treatment T0 (control) showing 64.00 (percent) first count in first year, 65.33 (percent) first count in 2nd year. Highest Germination Percent found to be in the Treatment T9 (GA3 50 ppm) experiment showing that the first count (percent) in T1, T2, T3, T4, Germination (Percent) T1, T2, T3, T4 significantly higher than the Control treatment (T0). From the present study, it also be concluded that 8 hrs seed priming with Thiram is useful to enhance the first count (per cent) & Standard Germination Percent of wheat variety K-607 & Priming improves germination by inducing a physiological state conducive to faster and more uniform emergence.
