Abstract

Type 2 diabetes requires effective dietary management to control blood sugar levels and avoid health problems. Diet is very important in managing the disease, in diabetes mellites, cereals particularly whole grains and refined grains play a vital role. Whole grains are rich in fiber content, vitamins, and minerals have low glycemic index enhance insulin sensitivity, and reduce the risk of Type 2 diabetes. In contrast, refined cereals lost the vital nutrients during processing which leads to rapid spikes in blood glucose levels and worsens diabetic conditions.
