Constraints experienced by live stock owners in livestock management practices in Banda district of Uttar Pradesh
Abstract
To develop suitable livestock development policies, the constraints faced by the farmers need to be understood. Therefore, present study was conducted in Baberu block of Banda districts of Uttar Pradesh. The information was collected through a pre-structured questionnaire from 80 livestock owners was randomly selected from Anuvan village. The constraints score of each respondent as well as of all the respondents for each item pertaining to financial, situational, health care, infrastructural and management were worked out. The results revealed that high cost of labour was the major financial constraints, lack of irrigation facilities was major situational constraints, high incidence of diseases among livestock was the major health care constraints, lack of loan facility was the major infrastructural constraints and lack of dairy cooperative society in village was the major management constraints faced by livestock owners.
