Influence of different levels of zinc and nano-urea application on yield and economics of maize
Abstract
During the kharif season of 2022-23, a field experiment was carried out at the Central Crop Research Farm, Department of Agronomy, SHUATS, Prayagraj (U.P). The soil in the experimental plot was sandy loam in texture, pH 7.2 and low in Organic carbon (0.87%), Available Nitrogen (225 kg ha-1), Phosphorus (41.8 kg ha-1) and Potassium (261.2 kg ha-1) are the most abundant elements. The experiment used Randomized Block Design and had ten treatments that were reproduced three times. The findings revealed that the yield parameters, viz. Number of grain cob-1 (476.79), Grain yield (4.33 t ha-1), Stover yield (6.65 t ha-1). The treatment of ZnSO4 30 kg ha-1 and Nano urea 4 ml lit-1 resulted in the highest Gross returns (149558.3 ha-1), Net returns (108228.29 ha-1) and B:C ratio (2.14). As a result, the application of ZnSO4 30 kg ha-1 and Nano Urea 4 ml lit-1 was discovered to be both productive and economically practical.
