A case of ulcerative colitis cured successfully with homoeopathy: A case report

Abstract

Ulcerative colitis is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease which causes inflammation and ulcers in the lining of colon and rectum which leads to the symptoms such as abdominal pain, diarrhea and rectal bleeding. The exact cause behind ulcerative colitis is unknown however the causes are thought to be combination of genetic, environmental and immune factors. This disease causes a significant distress upon health related quality of life. The treatment of ulcerative colitis is basically focuses on anti-inflammatory medications and surgical removal of a part or whole of colon if medication don’t work. In Homoeopathy the basic aim to treat a patient is to provide individualized Homoeopathic treatment by considering all genetic, emotional, environmental and immunological factors by complete case taking .Thus Homoeopathy provides holistic treatment which cures the patient.
