Psyllobora bisoctonotata (Mulsant): A newly recorded fungus eating ladybird beetle on shisham (Dalbergia sissoo) from Jharkhand, India

Abstract

Larvae and adults of coccinellid beetle species, Psyllobora bisoctonotata (Mulsant) were noticed on powdery mildew infested shisham leaves in the nursery and plantation areas in and around Ranchi district of Jharkhand state. The present finding of these mycophagous grubs and beetles on fungus infected shisham leaves documents for the first time from Jharkhand state and this new record can be used as effective controlling agent of powdery mildew fungus of shisham leaves in Jharkhand State.
