Molecular identification of Haemaphysalis bispinosa and Rhipiceplalus microplus ticks from Assam by 16SrDNA sequences
International Journal of Advanced Biochemistry Research · 2025 · Vol. 9(3S) · pp. 498–501
Abstract
To investigate and identify the ticks prevalent in Assam, the North East part of India, DNA sequence of mitochondrial 16S ribosomal DNA (rDNA) was used. On the basis of molecular analysis, the ticks infesting goat of Assam were found to be Haemaphysalis bispinosa and Rhipicephalus microplus. The length of the 16S rDNA sequences in both the ticks was found to be similar in size, but they differ in their base pair constitutions.
