Problems faced by agricultural under graduate girl students in pursuing higher education and their suggestions

Abstract

This study explores the challenges faced by agricultural undergraduate girl students in pursuing higher education and offers suggestions for overcoming these obstacles. A survey was conducted to identify key issues, revealing that the most significant problem (53.33%) was a lack of confidence among girl students in enhancing their educational standards. Financial constraints (37.50%) and limited knowledge about educational loans (33.33%) were also major hurdles. Other challenges included inadequate practical-oriented education, lack of parental motivation, and outdated curricula. To address these issues, the study suggests fostering confidence among girl students (56.67%), incorporating practical-oriented learning (45.00%), and ensuring sufficient funding for educational facilities (40.83%). Additionally, efforts should be made to instil academic values, enhance awareness of educational loans, and encourage parental support. Updating the curriculum to align with emerging fields was also recommended. Addressing these challenges through targeted interventions can significantly improve access to and participation in higher agricultural education for girl students.
