Influence of different mulching and different varieties on growth and yield of wheat under semi-arid region of Rajasthan

Abstract

The present study was undertaken to study the effect different mulching and varieties on growth parameters and productivity of wheat. An investigation was taken up during rabi season of 2024-25 at Research Farm, School of Agriculture, Suresh Gyan Vihar University Jaipur. The experiment was laid down in factorial randomized block design (FRBD) with three replications. The treatments comprised of three levels of mulching i.e. Control (M0), Plastic mulch (M1), Straw mulch (M2), four varieties i.e. WH- 1142 (V1), HD- 2967 (V2), HD- 3086 (V3) and WH-1105 (V4). The results revealed that all plant growth parameters, grain, straw and biological yield of wheat were found highest in WH- 1142 (V1) and in mulch treatments having straw mulch. The results revealed that all plant growth parameters, grain, straw and biological yield of wheat were found highest with the combined application of WH- 1142 (V1) and in straw mulch (M3).
