A literature review in different intra canal medicaments used in routine endodontic practice

Abstract

The overall success of any endodontic treatment, depends upon total eradication of microorganisms, which are capable of causing infection. After removal of all the debris and the pulpal residue form the affected root canal, there should be absolute sealing of the root canal along with depuration of all the microorganisms present in the canal space. Making the canal free from all sort of debris and microorganisms plays an important role in the success of any type of endodontic treatment. To make the canal free from microorganisms, there are different ways for approaching the same, starting from the very first part is following the basic principle of sterilization. All the instruments which are supposed to be use in the endodontic practice, should be neat and clean and sterilized properly, proper irrigation in between the procedure is very much required to remove the debris part from the canal, use of different medicaments to reduce the inflammation and make the canal free from microorganisms, sealing of the canal properly, to avoid any leakage or seepage from the outside environment [1-11].
