Complete intraluminal migration of gossypiboma presenting as small bowel obstruction: A case report

Abstract
The term gossypiboma denotes a mass of cotton that is retained in the body following surgery. Transmural migration of intra-abdominal gossypiboma into the small bowel is rare. However, it can present with life-threatening complications like perforations and intestinal obstruction. Here we are reporting a case of a 50-year-old female presenting with small bowel obstruction due to gossypiboma, 9 months after the initial surgical procedure.
