Effectiveness of nebulization in the small ruminants

Abstract

Aspiration is defined as the inhalation of fluid and secretions into the larynx and the lower respiratory tract. Twelve Salem black goats were reported to the large animal unit of Namakkal veterinary college hospital with the history respiratory distress, serous nasal discharge and wheezing sound on auscultation were treated with Inj. enrofloxacin @ 5 mg /kg b.wt I/M, Inj. Prednisolone @ 1 mg/kg b.wt I/M, Inj. Furosemide @ 2 mg/kg b. wt I/M for 5 days and nebulization was done with amikacin and budesonide. A comparison study conducted between the group of animals treated as per standard protocol and a group of animals with aerosol therapy. Improvement was noticed in the aerosol treated group of animals.
