The study of laboratory parameter alteration and clinical correlation with disease severity in COVID-19 patients at a tertiary care hospital

Abstract

Introduction: COVID-19, caused by SARS-CoV-2, presents with symptoms ranging from mild flu-like symptoms to severe ARDS and organ failure. Purpose/ Objectives: The objective of this study is to classify COVID-19 cases into mild, moderate, and severe categories, while also evaluating the role of haematological, biochemical, inflammatory, and coagulation parameters in the stratification of disease severity. Material and Methodology: The descriptive study was used to analyse 500 RT-PCR-positive COVID-19 cases. Analysis of variance was used for clinicopathological correlations.
