Case report on anomalous baby with colpocephaly

Abstract

Colpocephaly is an abnormal enlargement of the occipital horn of the lateral ventricle, also described as persistence of the fetal configuration of the lateral ventricles. Colpocephaly has been found in association with several abnormalities of the brain. Various etiologies have been postulated, including intrauterine or perinatal injuries, genetic disorders, and an error of morphogenesis. New case of colpocephaly associated with absence of the corpus callosum. It can cause seizures and intellectual disability, among other symptoms. While there isn’t a cure for colpocephaly, healthcare providers can help the child to manage with this condition throughout their life.
