Pre-sleep arousal in physical education professionals

Abstract

The study aimed to assess the pre-sleep arousal in physical education professionals. A total of 200 subjects were selected consisting of 100 subjects from private sector physical education teachers and 100 subjects from public sector physical education teachers. The pre-sleep arousal scale (Nicassio, Mendlowitz, Fussell, & Petras, 1985) was used for collecting data. Descriptive statistics and an independent t-test were applied to analyze the pre-sleep arousal in physical education professionals. Results indicate that the calculated ‘t’ value of somatic pre-sleep arousal and cognitive pre-sleep arousal between private sector and public sector physical education teachers were 1.76
