Comparison of selected physical fitness components among athletes and non-athletes

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to compare the selected physical fitness components among athletes and non-athletes of Gwalior city. The 30 male (15 athletes and 15 non-athletes) of age group 18-25 were selected as subjects for the study. The selected physical fitness components were muscular strength, muscular endurance, Cardio respiratory endurance, Flexibility and body composition for both the groups. The selected components were measured by using selected standardized tests for each physical fitness variable. Data collected was analyzed at0.05 level of significance and independent‘t’ test was applied to compare the physical fitness among athletes and non-athletes. The study showed that there was significant difference in physical fitness among athletes and non-athletes.
