The role of Vedic rituals in community building and social harmony

Abstract

This research study explores the integral role of Vedic rituals in fostering community building and promoting social harmony. Rooted in the ancient Indian scriptures known as the Vedas, these rituals have been a pivotal aspect of Indian culture and society. The study delves into various dimensions of Vedic rituals, including their historical origins, theoretical frameworks, communal aspects, and their impacts on social cohesion and harmony. By examining literary sources, historical texts, primary interviews and contemporary practices, this paper aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of how Vedic rituals contribute to community building and the sustenance of social order. 9 in 10 people who had more participation towards Vedic rituals displayed more harmony, collaborative approach and society first approach in their mindset compared to other group (N = 5K).
