Effect of different colour shade nets on germination and seedling growth of broccoli (Brassica oleracea var. Italica) var. Pusa Kts-1

Abstract

An experiment was conducted to study the effect of different colour shade nets on germination and seedling growth of broccoli (Brassica oleracea var. Italica) var. Pusa Kts-1. The experiment was carried out under shade net at College Nursery, NMCA, NAU, Navsari. The experiment was laid out in a completely randomized block design comprising of six treatments and repeated thrice. The results revealed that maximum germination (%), seedling height (cm), seedling diameter (mm), number of leaves per seedling, leaf length (cm), leaf width (cm), survival (%) and minimum days taken for germination were recorded significantly in 50 percent red colored shade net.
