Correlation studies for chilli seed oil and other related traits in hot pepper lines (Capsicum annuum L.)

International Journal of Research in Agronomy · 2025 · Vol. 8(2) · pp. 12–14

Abstract

An experiment was conducted to study the phenotypic correlation for eighteen fruit and seed characters of 60 hot pepper lines along with four checks during late Kharif, 2023-24 at Horticultural Research Station, Lam, Guntur, Dr YSRHU. The results revealed that seed oil found to be significantly and positively correlated with seed oil index, while significant and negative correlation was observed with seed index. Therefore, seed oil index should be considered as selection criteria for identification of genotype with high seed oil content.
