Abstract
The experiment was aimed at to evaluating the performance of Osmanabadi kids in stall feeding and grazing system with the feeding of green Sesbania grandiflora and Stylosanthes hamata leaves. A total of 24 kids (12 males +12 males) were assigned to 4 dietary treatments i.e. T1 (grazing group) only concentrate+ 6 to 8 hrs grazing, while in T2, T3 and T4, all the groups were stall fed provided with S. grandiflora ad lib +gram straw 150g + 150 g concentrate, Stylosanthes hamata ad lib+ 150g gram straw + 150g concentrate and Sesbania grandiflora + Stylosanthes hamata each of 50-50% + 150g gram straw + 150g concentrate respectively. The overall body weight of the kids among all the treatments (T1, T2,T3 and T4) was highly significant and average body weight gain in 1st and 6th week had significant difference among the groups and higher body weight gain was observed in stall fed group (T4) than grazing group.
