Evidence-Based Homeopathy: A case study on alopecia areata in a 6-year-old child

Abstract

Introduction: Alopecia areata (AA) is a chronic autoimmune disorder characterized by non-scarring hair loss, either in isolated patches or across multiple areas of the scalp. This condition may also affect hair on other parts of the body. AA can manifest in individuals of all ages and impacts approximately 1-2% of the global population. Evidence from homeopathic literature indicates that cases of AA have been effectively managed through individualized homeopathic treatment. Case Summary: This report highlights the case of a 6-year-old boy diagnosed with alopecia areata. The case, documented at the AYUSH Homoeopathy Clinic in Bagalkot, details the patient’s treatment with personalized homeopathic remedies over a period of three months. The intervention resulted in substantial improvement, with the complete resolution of bald patches and no recurrence observed during follow-up.
