Innovative irrigation and disease detection: A wireless network approach for sustainability

Abstract

In the contemporary trajectory of technology, each innovation possesses its own methodology in demonstrating the impact on society. Particularly in agriculture, which constitutes the primary sector of the Indian economy, substantial transformations are imperative for efficiency and efficacy. Automation is requisite to simplify processes for the cultivator, thereby enabling a greater focus on the yield and productivity of the crop. Irrigation represents a pivotal domain to facilitate this automation in agriculture, where it has exerted a profound influence on our national income. To ensure that agriculture remains a viable occupation for farmers, emphasis on irrigation and crop yield through a plethora of innovative methodologies is the exigency of the moment. This manuscript examines a wireless system of network nodes for the communication between sensors and valves within the agricultural domain. Interference among these networks can be mitigated by assigning distinct port numbers to the respective nodes. Through the application of image processing techniques, the type of disease can be identified subsequent to determining the percentage and impact of the disease on the crop. This engenders a significant revolution in our nation's development and its approach towards the agricultural framework.
