Abstract

Experiment under field condition was conducted to evaluate the Bioefficacy of various insecticides and botanicals against predators of lac insect (Kerria lacca Ker.). Eublemma amabilis and Pseudohypatopa pulverea was noticed as major predators associated fauna of lac insect Kerria lacca (Kerr.) from Raipur district throughout aghani crop kusumi strain of lac. The results showed that among six treatments botanicals and insecticidal treatments proved superior in reducing the predator population. Indoxacarb 4.5% SC + Nuvoluron 5.25% SC @ 0.017 percent was observed as most effective and best insecticides against major predators Eublemma amabilis, Pseudohypatopa pulverea and least harmfull to lac insect. It was atpar with Emamectin Benzoate @ 0.0018%, Flubendamide @ 0.0315% and Baccilus thuringensis var. kurstaki @ 0.05%, but Beauveria bassiana @ 0.05%, Neem oil @ 1% show less effect on control of predators and survival of lac insect.
