Abstract

The present investigation entitled “Effect of different liquid organic nutrient sources on nutrient uptake by different high yielding scented and fortified rice varieties under organic production system” was carried out at Research cum Instructional Farm, IGKV, Raipur, (C.G.) during kharif season of 2022. The experiment was laid out in Factorial Randomized Block Design with three replications and two factors having seven and three treatments each. The treatments composed of 7 scented and fortified rice varieties (Factor A) viz Chhattisgarh Sugandhit Bhog, Indira Sugandhit Dhan-1, CG Devbhog, Sugandhmati, Zinco rice MS, Protazin, CG Madhuraj 55 and 3 liquid organic nutrient sources (Factor B) that includes control (water spray), jeevamrutha @ 500 l ha⁻¹ twice a month and foliar spray of vermiwash 10% at 30 DAT and cow urine 10% at 50 DAT. The total nutrient (N, P, K) uptake by different high yielding scented and fortified rice varieties, it was noted that CG Madhuraj uptake significantly higher nitrogen (66.95 kg haˉ1) and potassium (119.39 kg haˉ1) over other quality rice varieties. Whereas, Sugandhmati (36.90 kg haˉ1) registered highest phosphorus uptake. However, it was evident that sequential spray of vermiwash + cow urine @ 10% at 30 and 50 DAT resulted higher total nutrient uptake by rice.
