Impact of different sources of organic manures on microbial population status in soil after harvest of summer vegetable cowpea (Vigna unguiculata L.) under organic cultivation
Abstract
A field experiment was carried out at Agronomy Instructional Farm, Chimanbhai Patel College of Agriculture, Sardarkrushinagar Dantiwada Agricultural University, Sardarkrushinagar during summer 2020. The soil of the experimental field was loamy sand in texture, with low in organic carbon (0.30%) and available nitrogen (148.20 kg/ha), medium in available P2O5 (46.0 kg/ha) and available K2O (251.6 kg/ha) with soil pH of 7.5. The experiment comprised of ten treatments of different organic sources. The experiment was laid out in randomized block design with replicating three times. Integration of organic manures along with foliar spray of bio-enhancer i.e. Significantly the highest population of Total microbial population, rhizobium and PSB content in soil after harvest of cowpea crop were noticed under treatment T7 : castor cake @ 0.75 t/ha + panchagavya spray @ 4% at branching and flowering (252, 236 and 263 CFU × 104/g soil), respectively.
