Effectiveness of structured teaching programme on knowledge regarding Dysmenorrhea and its management among adolescent girls

Abstract

The present study has been undertaken to evaluate the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on knowledge regarding Dysmenorrhea and its Management among adolescent girls in selected educational institute at Chandauli. The research design adopted for the study was Pre experimental one-group Pretest - Post test research design in nature. 60 adolescent girls were selected by purposive Sampling technique. The tools for the study were self-structured knowledge questionnaire which consist of two parts, Part-1 consisted questions related to socio-demographic data, Part-2 consisted of self-structured knowledge questionnaire to evaluate the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on knowledge regarding Dysmenorrhea and its Management among adolescent girls. The data was analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistical methods. The most significant findings were 13% in poor category, 17% in average category and 46.66% in average category, 53.33%. The value of Mean ± SD 11.90±3.60 for pre-test and 15.52±4.46 for post-test with mean difference of 3.62±0.86., this difference shows that adolescent girl had been enhance their knowledge after posttest. So the H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected.
