Abstract

An investigation was conducted during kharif season of 2022 on non-cultivated area available at College Farm, N. M. College of Agriculture, Navsari Agricultural University, Navsari to assess the effect of herbicides on nutsedge (Cyperus rotundus) in non-cropped area. A Randomized Block Design (RBD) was employed, comprising seven treatments. The research evaluated the effectiveness of various weed control treatments on C. rotundus in non-cropped situation. Results showed that herbicidal treatments involving 2,4-D and Glyphosate at different stages and Halosulfuron Methyl especially when combined with Stale seed bed (SSB) + Ethrel or alone, were highly effective in controlling C. rotundus. These treatments significantly reduced weed density, shoot and tuber dry weight.
