Effect of phosphate rich organic manure (PROM) on productivity, nutrient uptake and economics in Rajmah bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.)

Abstract

The research study, named “Effect of phosphate rich organic manure (PROM) on productivity, nutrient uptake and economics in Rajmah bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.)” took place at the Agronomy farm of the College of Agriculture in Pune, Maharashtra, throughout the 2023-24 growing season. The experiment was arranged in a Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisting of seven treatments and three replications. All the growth, yield contributing characters and yield viz., plant height (cm), number of functional leaves per plant, number of branches per plant, dry matter per plant (gm), pod length (cm), the number of pods per plant, number of seeds per pod, seed weight per plant (gm), 100 seed weight (gm), seed yield (14.78 q ha-1), and stover yield (24.97 q ha-1), were significantly higher with the application of treatment T3 (100% phosphorus through SSP). However, this treatment was found to be at par with the treatment T7 (25% phosphorus through PROM + 75% phosphorus through SSP) and T6 (50% phosphorus through PROM + 50% phosphorus through SSP). Nevertheless, substantial reduction in all these growth and yield attributes were observed with absolute control.
