Advancing integrated pest management: Strategies for minimizing pesticide use

Abstract

Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is a holistic approach to pest control that emphasizes ecological principles and minimizes reliance on synthetic pesticides. This paper provides a concise overview of the key strategies for advancing IPM and minimizing pesticide use. It emphasizes the need for a multifaceted approach that combines various control methods and considers the ecological and economic implications of pest management decisions. The key strategies for advancing IPM and reducing pesticide use, including: Habitat Manipulation, Cultural Controls, Biological Control, Monitoring and Early Detection, Pesticide Use Optimization. This paper highlights the importance of interdisciplinary research, farmer education, and policy support to effectively implement IPM strategies and minimize pesticide use, leading to more sustainable and environmentally friendly agricultural practices.
