Effect of combined Betaine, Chromium and Ascorbic acid supplementation (Betachrom C) on production performance, carcass characteristics, biochemical parameters and immune status in commercial broilers

Abstract

An experiment was conducted to evaluate the effect of Betachrom C (Each kilogram contains Betaine Hydrochloride @ 250 g, Chromium tripicolinate @ 3200 mg and Ascorbic acid @ 5g and marketed in India by Frango Lifescience Private Limited) on production performance, carcass traits, biochemical parameters and immune status in commercial broiler chicken reared under deep litter management system for 42 days of age. One-day old 200 commercial broiler chicks were randomly distributed to four groups, 5 replicates of 10 birds each. The birds fed with basal broiler diet (Control), Betachrom C -100mg per kg with basal diet (T1), Betachrom C -250mg per kg with basal diet (T2) and Betachrom C -500 mg per kg with basal diet (T3). Among four groups, the body weight gain, cumulative feed intake and FCR were 1.623Kg, 3.035Kg and 1.87 in control group, 1.915Kg, 3,409Kg and 1.78 in T1 group, 2.08Kg, 3.474Kg and 1.67 in T2 group and 2.085Kg, 3.461Kg and 1.66 in T3 group respectively (p< 0.05). The production performance was significantly higher in T2 and T3 groups than other groups and there is not statistically significant difference between T2 and T3 group.
