Evaluation of different fungicides and plant extracts against a macrospora under in vitro conditions

International Journal of Research in Agronomy · 2024 · Vol. 7(12) · pp. 835–839

Abstract

In vitro study was carried out to know the effect of growth, inhibition of alternaria macrospora for using nine different fungicides and nine different plant extracts. Maximum mean per cent growth inhibition (90.83%) was found in the fungicidal treatment of hexaconazole 5% + captan 70% WP which was at par with propiconazole 25% EC (88.89%). Hexaconazole 5% + captan 70% WP inhibited 78.52 per cent mycelial growth at 50 ppm, 84.81 per cent at 100 ppm, cent per cent at 250 ppm and 500 ppm concentration. For fungicidal inhibition of the growth over the control ranged from 37.13% to 90.83% per cent. At 5 per cent, radial mycelial growth inhibition of the test pathogen was ranged from 28.89 to 40.37 per cent. For 10 per cent concentration, radial mycelial growth inhibition was ranged from 33.33 to 44.44 per cent and at 15 per cent concentration, radial mycelial growth inhibition was ranged from 36.30 to 75.93 per cent. Maximum mycelial growth inhibition recorded in Karen (75.93%) which was followed by Datura (74.07%). Overall per cent growth inhibition ranged from 34.32 to 51.97 per cent.
