Management of root-knot nematodes (Meloidogyne spp.) using biofumigant crops in cucumber under protected cultivation
International Journal of Advanced Biochemistry Research · 2024 · Vol. 8(12) · pp. 1021–1024
Abstract
A field trial on cucumber was conducted to test the efficacy of various biofumigant crops viz., cabbage, cauliflower, mustard, radish and broccoli, @ 25 t/ha with a view to manage the root-knot nematodes (Meloidogyne spp.) under protected cultivation at Department of Nematology, B. A. College of Agriculture, Anand Agricultural University, Anand (Gujarat) during 2023 and 2024. Maximum reduction in root-knot index (RKI), number of females, egg masses, eggs, soil and final nematode population and maximum yield was obtained in the bed treated with mustard 25 t/ha and it was followed by radish 25 t/ha.
