Establishment methods effect on growth and yield of rice

International Journal of Research in Agronomy · 2024 · Vol. 7(12) · pp. 791–794

Abstract

A field experiment was conducted during Kharif, 2020 at Institute of Rice Research, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad in Telangana state. The experiment was laid out in randomized block design with three replications. Treatments consist of S1-Broadcasting of seeds (50 kg ha-1), S2-Manual line sowing of seeds, S3-Drum seeding, S4: Raised bed sowing, S5 -Broadcasting (50 kg ha-1) and row formation with power weeder S6-Normal Transplanting. Significantly higher grain yield was recorded in S2-Manual line sowing of seeds (6321) and was at par with S4: Raised bed sowing (6107), S1-Broadcasting of seeds (50 kg ha-1) (5969) and S6-Normal manual Transplanting (5832) followed by S3-Drum seeding (5615) and was at par with S5 -Broadcasting (50 kg ha-1) and row formation with power weeder (5400). It can be concluded from this study that wet DSR can be followed with different sowing options like Manual line sowing of seeds, Raised bed sowing and Broadcasting of seeds (50 kg ha-1) and reap the grain yield on par with the manual transplanting.
