Facile hydrothermal synthesis of barium oxide
Abstract
The semiconductor metal oxides have versatile applications in the fields of antimicrobial treatments, biosensors, electro sensors, photocatalysis, lasers, non-linear optical devices, and photovoltaic devices. In this present work, Barium oxide (BaO) was prepared through the facile hydrothermal method and calcination at 500 °C. The crystal structure of the synthesized material was examined through X-ray diffraction (XRD), and calculated the average crystallite size from the XRD data using the Debye-Scherrer equation. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis investigated the presence of functional groups. XPS analysis was performed to analyses the chemical composition. The surface morphology has been analysed using a field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) analysis.
