Soil enzymatic activities as influenced by tillage and nutrient management practices under rice-based cropping systems

Abstract

A field experiment was conducted during 2020-21 and 2021-22 to study the ‘Soil Enzymatic Activities as Influenced by Tillage and Nutrient Management Practices under Rice-Based Cropping Systems’ at Sindewahi block, Chandrapur district, Maharashtra, India. The study examined various rice-based cropping systems, tillage practices, and nutrient management practices. The results revealed that, diversification of rice based cropping systems, especially incorporation of legumes and integrated nutrient management significantly boosted soil enzymatic activities compared to rice-rice and rice-wheat cropping systems combined with chemical fertilizer-based practices. These findings highlight the potential of sustainable agricultural practices to improve soil health and agricultural productivity in the Sindewahi block of Chandrapur district.
