Enhanced diagnostic value of specific radiographic views versus standard ap and lateral projections in calcaneal fractures: A nine-month retrospective study at Mosul General Hospital
International Journal of Orthopaedics Sciences · 2024 · Vol. 10(4) · pp. 480–481
Abstract
This retrospective study examines the diagnostic efficacy of supplementary radiographic views, such as the Harris and Broden projections, compared to standard Anteroposterior (AP) and Lateral projections for identifying calcaneal fractures. Over nine months, 100 patients with confirmed calcaneal fractures were assessed at Mosul General Hospital. Findings reveal that additional views improve diagnostic accuracy, especially for complex intra-articular fractures, aiding in treatment planning and potentially enhancing patient outcomes.
