Genetic study for yield and yield components in soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merrill.]

International Journal of Advanced Biochemistry Research · 2024 · Vol. 8(12S) · pp. 918–921

Abstract

In the present investigation, gene action was investigated for nine yield contributing traits in Soybean. One cross was made between JS 2034 and TGX 709 50E soybean parents during summer 2023. Additive gene action was found predominant for days to first flowering, days to physiological maturity, plant height and hundred seed weight; Both additive and dominance gene effects were significantly involved in the expression of days to 1st flowering in cross JS 2034 × TGX 709 50E. Biparental mating design is suggested to improve these characters.
