Response analysis of primary agricultural credit societies and farmers towards bank credit in coastal area of Maharashtra

Abstract

The research focused on assessing the performance of Ratnagiri District Central Co-operative Bank Ltd (RDCC) using various parameters, drawing data from annual reports spanning 39 years (1983-2021). The study segmented the data into three periods, revealing positive indicators for the fiscal year 2020-21. With 80 branches across the district, RDCC showcased robust financial health, including a notable compound annual growth rate of 13.9% in share capital over the 39-year span. Despite a modest 0.15% annual growth in the number of employees, the bank demonstrated consistent linear growth rates in investments and debt recovery. Notably, the debt recovery percentage surged by 53.85% over the past four decades, underscoring RDCC's significant improvements in key financial metrics.
