Impact of Mentha farming on socio-economic condition of farmers in district Buxar of Bihar

Abstract

Mentha farming is well known for their role in agriculture farmer of uplifting life of rural people either socially, economically, and culturally. This study titled “Impact of Mentha Framing on Socio-economic Condition of Farmers in District Buxar of Bihar”. The investigation was done in ten village of Itarhi block. A total of 120 farmer were selected as respondent for the study purpose. Data collection unfurled personalized interview, and facilitated by a meticulously crafted questionnaire. The study relevant that majority of the respondent had middle age group (56.67%), having educational high school (35.00%), and (50.00%) of respondent involved in agriculture, (58.33%) had a medium annual income, and (55.83%) respondent belong to OBC category, (53.33%) respondent have medium farming experience, (45.84%) belong to medium size families, and (95.00%) belong to nuclear families, (66.00%) small land holding and (33.33%) respondent belong to never extension contact, and majority of respondent (46.67%) have a medium level of knowledge of the Mentha – recommended farming practices.
